Update 12/5- Amex confirmed that CLT will be getting a Centurion Lounge but in 2020. Other exciting news is that LHR will also be one of the next recipients of one.
The American Airlines fortress hub at Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) could see a new American Express Centurion Lounge in fall 2019. Per the agenda for the Charlotte City Countil Meeting on Monday 11/26/2018, they will be voting to approve a lease to American Express for a potential 13,000 sq ft space on an upper level between Concourse D and E. Per the meeting agenda the lounge would open in the Fall of 2019.

This is potentially great news which would add a thirteenth Centurion Lounge to the ever expanding network which in addition to the current nine locations includes new lounges planned at DEN, JFK and LAX.

Personally this potential development is fantastic news as my local regional airport, ERI, recently announced plans to change AA service from PHL to CLT starting in May 2019. The loss of a Centurion Lounge at a connection point was one big downside.
